City Nature Challenge at Bethine Church Trail

Golden Eagle Audubon Society is participating in the 2023 City Nature Challenge. We're hosting a data collection event at our adopted reach of Greenbelt, the pedestrian-only Bethine Church Trail.

City Nature Challenge is a huge community science event that includes recording findings of birds and all other wild things.  Volunteers use their cell phone and iNaturalist  to submit photos of what they see during the event.

You will need to attend our Zoom class or watch the recording if you haven't participated in the Challenge or used iNaturalist before.

Participants will meet at the Bown Library and walk to the Bethine Church trail together. You will learn about the major habitat restoration work GEAS is doing on this trail along with submitting your findings.

The Bethine Church Trail is a flat dirt trail. Volunteers will need to travel about 1 mile. There are no restrooms. Volunteers 14 and older are welcome.

The volunteer must be registered in Volunteer Local and a liability waiver signed by the individual or a parent if they are under 18 years old.
