Field Trip: Birding Homestead Trail

Western Meadowlark. Photo by Mick Thomson.

Join us for an easy paced hike up Homestead Trail into the foothills of east Boise. This trail is an old steep rocky road. Be prepared to walk up to three miles on uneven terrain.

Expect to see meadowlarks, lazuli buntings, orioles, horned larks, sparrows, kingbirds, ravens, and, if we are lucky, baby owls!

Bring water, hat, binoculars, sunscreen; shade will be limited.
