Project ReWild Bird Survey

Song Sparrow by Glen Hush

Volunteers are needed to monitor birds at Boise River ReWild (BRR) Project Area to determine bird abundance and diversity.

In 2023, there will be 9 bird monitoring locations spread throughout the BRR Project Area.

All volunteers will gather at the picnic shelter in Marianne Williams Park for an orientation and site assignment. Teams of 2 or three will be assigned one or more sites to survey and provided instructions and directions on how to locate the plot. More experienced birders will team up with less experienced volunteers.

Interested Volunteers must have an eBird account, be familiar with recording eBird checklists, and be confident in identifying birds by sight and sound. Job will require walking on uneven ground and standing in place for 8-10 minutes.

Each point count will be just 5 minutes.

You must register as a Golden Eagle Audubon register and register for this project at https://golden-eagle-audubon-society.volunteerlocal.com/volunteer/?id=72992
