On a pleasant July morning, a group of 10 volunteers met at Warm Springs Park, spread out into an open field, and began diligently filling up large, black trash bags.

It’s National Pollinator Week (June 22-28)! This is a great time to appreciate all the important benefits our pollinators provide and reflect on what we can do to help protect them.

Our volunteers and community partners have worked hard the past two years to install and maintain a native plant garden at the park. Now, birds and pollinators are enjoying a variety of native plants such as hoary aster, blue flax, yarrow, and showy milkweed!

If Yogi Berra had been a birder instead of a Major League Baseball player, he might have said “Birding is ninety percent listening and the other half is watching.”
