Birding in Venezuela with Terry Rich

Venezuela is an incredibly diverse country with an astonishing number of bird species and wonderful people. Terry Rich visited Venezuela in May 2007 for an international bird conference and birding tour. This talk will look at the birds, habitats, and people of the country. Terry says, “Although I have visited the Amazon Basin many times, I have never seen mixed flocks as diverse as those in the Venezuelan Amazon.”

This program is free and open to everyone.

Terry Rich has a BS in Wildlife Ecology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and an MS in Zoology from Idaho State University. He worked for the U.S. Bureau of Land Management for 20 years and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service for 15 years. He writes a weekly column on birds for the Idaho Press, leads field trips, and gives programs on birds in Boise and beyond.
