Bluebirds of Idaho

Bluebirds of Idaho – Identification, Ecology, and Conservation

Idaho has all three species of bluebirds – Mountain, Western, and Eastern – although the Eastern Bluebird is exceedingly rare. I will cover the taxonomy, identification, basic biology, behavior, occurrence, habitat selection, numbers, population trends, and conservation of these gorgeous thrushes. We’ll end with a photo quiz, with prizes.

Terry has a BS in Wildlife Ecology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and an MS in Zoology from Idaho State University. Terry worked for the U.S. Bureau of Land Management for 20 years and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service for 15 years. He currently writes a weekly column on birds for the Idaho Press, teaches numerous classes, and leads birding field trips. Terry is an Honorary Life-time Member of the American Ornithological Society.

This class is for all levels of birders.

The class will be on Zoom. You will get the link after you register.  It will be recorded and made available to registrants afterwards.
