State of Raptors of the World

Dr. Chris McClure, Director of Global Conservation Science at The Peregrine Fund, will give us a current look at the State of Raptors of the World. Raptors have outsized effects on ecosystems, yet are facing serious threats around the globe. Chris McClure will discuss the importance of raptors, their conservation status, the threats they face, and The Peregrine Fund's efforts to conserve their populations. Chris oversees all of the research and monitoring conducted by the organization.

He has published roughly 90 peer-reviewed articles and is Associate Editor for the Journal of Raptor Research. He is affiliate faculty at Boise State University and an honorary researcher at the University of Witwatersrand in South Africa. Importantly, Chris is spearheading the Global Raptor Impact Network, an effort to monitor the world’s raptors.
