It’s National Pollinator Week (June 22-28)! This is a great time to appreciate all the important benefits our pollinators provide and reflect on what we can do to help protect them.

Our volunteers and community partners have worked hard the past two years to install and maintain a native plant garden at the park. Now, birds and pollinators are enjoying a variety of native plants such as hoary aster, blue flax, yarrow, and showy milkweed!

If Yogi Berra had been a birder instead of a Major League Baseball player, he might have said “Birding is ninety percent listening and the other half is watching.”

Thanks to all who participated in our 2021 Great Backyard Bird Count—the results are in!

This week GEAS, Boise River Enhancement Network, and Ada County Parks and Waterways came together to remove thorny thickets of invasive Russian olive trees from Barber Park.
