The Breeding Bird Survey (BBS) is a program for monitoring the bird populations of North America during the breeding season that has been in place since 1966. We’ll look at the man behind the BBS, Chan Robbins, the survey method, how population trends are used in bird conservation assessment, and some results for Idaho bird populations.
